## Gaussian Eliminator Tool

### For Those Who Hate Doing Arithmetic By Hand

#### Introduction

Below is a java applet that can be used to solve linear equations.
Edit the two text fields to specify the number of rows and columns you want
and then click on the *Go Eliminating* button.

A new window will pop up with an empty matrix having the correct dimensions.
You can enter data elements into each text field to define a specific problem.
Alternatively, you can click on *Generate Random Problem* to get
a random problem to play with.

To normalize a row, simply click on the variable-button situated on the
diagonal for the row that you want to normalize. To make a nondiagonal
element zero, click on the variable-button to the right of that element.
To swap rows, click on the two rows you want to swap in the *Swap*
column.

Coefficients on the diagonal are highlighted in pink.
